Telling Patient Stories
with Interactive Design
Novartis partnered with Real Chemistry to create an interactive educational experience for national medical congresses. The goal was to help healthcare professionals better understand the patient journey and underlying disease mechanisms of Myasthenia gravis through an engaging, touch-based application.
As a production designer, I helped shape the experience from concept to final build. I collaborated with art direction to establish the visual style, developed the UI from low-fidelity wireframes to polished interfaces, and illustrated original scenes for the beginning and end of the experience. I worked closely with the incredible medical illustrators, writers, and developers on my team to ensure scientific accuracy, usability, and regulatory compliance.
The final experience transformed dense medical content into a clear, intuitive narrative that guided users through the disease journey with interactive storytelling and organized information. The application became part of Novartis' congress presence, helping educate healthcare professionals and supporting future exhibit work.
Delivered:
An intuitive, touch-based interactive learning experience
Bespoke lifestyle illustrations of the patient journey
User interface design adhering to Novartis brand standards
Medical illustrations completed by Real Chemistry team members Sam Palahnuk and art directed by CC Johnson.
